Restoration, remodel and new build all came together in this project to create a modernized home with vintage flair. Originally built in the 1920’s as a vertical log cabin, the owners’ quest was to expand in size and incorporate modern amenities in this home without sacrificing any of the character and charm that it had acquired throughout the years. The great room and the screen porch, rooms that were most beloved to the homeowners, were kept and restored but also raised to allow for a full basement and walkout to the lake. A two story addition was constructed to accommodate the entire family and provide the homeowners with a serene master bedroom retreat. The end result is old and new intertwined to create pure enjoyment.
